Since moving their whole lives into the van, the family has been able to save money significantly. “To connect with nature and connect as a family like this, as cliché as it sounds - is something money can’t buy,” she says. “They have been camping since they were six weeks old (in tents) so the ever-changing experiences and no real routine was quite normal for our family,” she says.ĭespite its challenges, Maigan says choosing to hit the road and live off grid, has been the “greatest decision” her family has made. Since April, the family has been slowly making their way down the East Coast of Australia, starting off in Yeppoon, Queensland to where they are now on the New South Wales Central Coast.
